Slovakia and Turkey not coming back in 2015

Slovakian broadcaster RTVS announced that they will not participate in Eurovision Song Contest 2015. “Even if next year’s contest will be held in Vienna, very close to capital city of Slovakia, the participation fee is still too high for RTVS” – the vice-president of OGAE Slovakia said to ESC Bubble. Spokeperson of RTVS informed as well that ESC does not fit their programme interests”. Slovakia has participated seven times so far, but still their 18th place from 1996 is the best result they achieved. After coming back in 2009, Slovakia tried to qualify for the final three times, but without success. Last time this country participated in 2012 with Max Jason Mai who came last in his semi final with “Don’t close your eyes”.

After short period of rumours and hopes, Turkish television TRT confirmed they won’t return to Eurovision Song Contest next year, but participation in the future is still possible. Last Turkish entry was seen in Baku during ESC 2012. Can Bonomo finished 7th with “Love me back” but it was decided that Turkey will withdrew to express dissatisfaction regarding voting formula and idea of ‘Big 5’ group.
