180 songs received for Skopje Fest!

MRT, the Macedonian national broadcaster, informs that they have received a total of 180 songs for this year’s edition of Skopje Fest, the festival which will select the Macedonian Eurovision entrant for Vienna. Due to the Day of Liberation of Skopje being on the 13th of November, the day Skopje Fest was also planned to be held on, the festival will be moved to the 12th of November.

MRT informs that most of the participating songs in Skopje Fest are going to be selected from these 180 submitted songs, but that the participants list will be finalized with invitations to a couple of well-known Macedonian composers. Valentino Skenderovski, a famous producer who is also the Artistic Director of Skopje Fest, said that they won’t reveal the names of the invited composers, until the final list of participants is announced.

MRT has invested a lot into organizing this year’s Skopje Fest, in order to attract more viewers, and there will also be rewards for the best songs, in order to attract composers and singers to take part as well.

Rumours are already going around about some artists who have submitted their songs, such as Vera Jankovik, Vlatko Ilievski (who represented Macedonia in Eurovision 2011), Goran Naumovski & Sanja Kerkez, Aleksandar Tarabunov, as well as the winner of Skopje Fest from last year – Lambe Alabakovski.
