Dominic is another artist to make it to the top 20 in the Maltese national selection. He is a newcomer to this selection, as it is the first time ever that he got selected for the semi final! He is entering the Eurovision selection in Malta with the song titled “Once In A While”, which was written by Elton Zarb and Rita Pace.

We had the pleasure to chat with Dominic about his participation, about his song, and we also asked him about his personal favourites, and his views on Eurovision. Check out all of that in the following interview:

• Hi Dominic! First of all congratulations for making it to the top 20! How do you feel?

This is my first experience in this competition. Really happy that I made it to the final 20, especially that I am going to perform on a huge stage.

• How did you decide to enter the Contest this year?

I submit songs every year, because I really like the feel of a competition and performing in front of a huge audience.

• How did you get in contact with the composer(s) of your song?

I work at full time job with my Composer and Boss 🙂 as a music Producer . We collaborate stuff together and we are a good team.

• Can you tell us a little bit about your song?

The song “Once In A While” is about a breakthrough in someone’s life. Life is full of ups and downs but we should never get discouraged, because something good is maybe about to happen. This good song urges us to appreciate life and enjoy the good time of it .. The style of the song is Pop Rock.

• How are you preparing yourself for the national final?

Rehearsals every day to be prepared for the big night .

• Have you already had some thought about how your performance will be on stage?

Yes , It will be finalized in a few days but it’s a secret 🙂

• Who do you think is your biggest competition to win this national final?

Amber and Christabelle.

• Malta is hosting Junior Eurovision only a week before the national final. Are you planning to attend this event?

Definitely. Big YES!

• What does Eurovision mean to you?

As it is one of the biggest events in Malta, and as we are small, it will help you to get more popular and famous.

• Are you a Eurovision fan, and have you got an all time favourite Eurovision song?
