Tonight at 20:30 CyBC will air the first episode of Eurovision Song Project, a new National Selection formula ahead of the Cypriot comeback to the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. The whole format will consist of nine shows, where the first seven episodes will be dedicated to the auditions where a local jury will select 20 candidates to participate in next round.

Each singer will have to present a Eurovision cover and the selection song, based on which the local jury (Alex Panayi, Depsina Olympiou, Elena Petroklou and Tasos Trifonos) will give the simple vote – YES or NO. Every candidate with at least 3 Yes’s will proceed to the next stage. According to this new formula, 20 out of 55 paricipants will qualify to the round called “Euro Challenge” which is scheduled for the 18th January 2015. The Grand Final will be held on 1st of February 2015.
