Serbia’s Countdown for Vienna

RTS1, the first channel of the Serbian national broadcaster, is set to broadcast a show on 14th and 15th February at 9 pm CET respectively, called “Odbrojavanje za Bec” (Countdown for Vienna,) which is a joint project of the Serbian national broadcaster and the record label “Beoton.” It is then, when Serbia will choose its representative for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna.

Bojana Stamenov, Danica Krstic and Aleksa Jelic will perform songs by Vladimir Graic, who composed three songs especially for Eurovision. Who is going to be the winner will be decided by a 50:50 joint vote between a jury and the audience.

“Countdown for Vienna” will consist of two shows. On 14th February, the three candidates will be introduced and they will sing both national and international hits to show the splendor of their vocal capabilities and powerful interpretations, for which they were selected as candidates in the first place. During the first show, Bojana, Danica and Aleksa will draw a number which will determine the order in performing their song on the following night. The host of the first show will be Dragana Kosjerina.

On 15th February, viewers will hear the three songs for the first time – of which only one will represent Serbia in Vienna. That evening, the audience will be able to influence the choice of who will be the Serbian representative. Besides the three competing songs, viewers will get the chance to see previous Serbian representatives as well as representatives from other countries in the region, who will sing well-known hits – all in the spirit of Eurovision. The host of the second show will be Maja Nikolic.

“Countdown for Vienna” will be broadcast live at 9 pm CET on 14th and 15th February, only on RTS1.
