Austria to perform 14th in the Grand Final!

The annual Head of Delegations Meeting has kicked off in Vienna. This is the time when the entries of all 40 participating countries are officially submitted to the European Broadcasting Union.

In addition to the random draw determining that Austria – the host country – will sing 14th in the final of Eurovision Song Contest 2015, preliminary dates for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest have also been announced. The two semi-finals will be held on 10th and 12th of May and the final on 14th of May 2016.

Furthermore, the Eurovision Song Contest Reference Group election also took place earlier. Aleksander Radic from RTVSLO, Slovenia, Emilie Sickinghe from AVROTROS, the Netherlands, and Nicola Caligiore from RAI, Italy, have been elected for a two-year term.

The Opening Reception of Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the traditional Red Carpet Ceremony will be held on 17th of May at Rathausplatz in Vienna. The Eurovision Village will open its “doors” to the general public on 18th of May, directly in front of Vienna’s city hall.

This year’s hosts have also announced that the grand final will see the competing artists enter the arena by a “magic bridge of light.”

Stay tuned for more information from the Head of Delegations Meeting.
