Junior Eurovision 2015 on November, 21st in Sofia

Today EBU has officially announced that the 13th edition of  the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be hosted by Bulgarian broadcaster BNT in Sofia, Bulgaria! The show will take place on 21 November in the Arena Armeec.

Earlier in January it was announced that the winning broadcaster of the Junior Eurovision Songs Contest 2014 – RAI, Italy – was not in a position to hold the competition in 2015 in Italy. According to the official site of the contest junioreurovision.tv  two countries were interested in hosting the competition this year. And today – after the space of 2 months – the made decision was announced.

BNT’s Director General Vyara Ankova said that it is a unique chance for BNT and Bulgaria to host one of the most prestigious music competitions in Europe. Junior Eurovision Executive Supervisor Vladislav Yakovlev added that EBU and the Junior Eurovision Steering Group would do their utmost to ensure that all the children and broadcasters would be part of a positive and fun event that gives them time in the spotlight and opportunities for creativity and friendship.

Bulgaria came second last year with the song ‘Planet of the Children’, sung by Krisia, accompanied by two virtuoso pianists Hasan and Ibrahim.

The Arena Armeec is quite a new one. It was opened a few years ago in 2011, but now it’s one of the most popular indoor arenas in Bulgaria being host for a number of major sport events and musical concerts.

EBU has also presented “re-touched and updated for 2015” logo:
