Highway do not rule out singing in English

Few days ago Montenegrin broadcaster decided that trio Highway will represent Montenegro in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. In the interview for daily newspaper “Vijesti” Marko Pešić said he is delighted with RTCG decision but also aware of huge responsibility. Marko, Luka and Petar are currently in Zagreb, where they record two new songs with producer Srdjan Seluković. “We would like to continue this cooperation also during our Eurovision preparation” – Marko said to “Vijesti”. He informed, one of new song should be published along with videoclip in the end of October.

We are very young, and the participation in Eurovision could help our career a lot, but to achieve it, we have to be very well-prepared. Song will be in our pop-rock style and we don’t rule out singing in English. All the options are possible so far but for us the most important thing is to leave good impression with our song and performance“.

Marko revealed that many people (also from abroad) contact them already to help during Eurovision preparation. Many of them have experience with the contest already as they worked with different participants in the past. Unfortunately mentors from “X Factor Adria 2”, where Highway reached 4th place in the final, didn’t contact them yet to congratulate or to provide any advices, but Marko hopes they will do that very soon, as even during this talent-show some of them said Highway will be a perfect choice for Eurovision Song Contest.

Marko spoke also about the controviersies regarding RTCG General Director who is a father of Highway’s guitarist – Luka. Some claimed, Highway has been picked due to family connection, but Marko said General Director was not involved in the selection for Eurovision 2016. “I think we presented our talent during X Factor where we reached superfinal thanks to the public support, that’s why I hope they won’t disappoint us this time and we promise to do our best to make all people, both supporters and opponents, proud of us after the contest“.
