Latvian public broadcaster LSM have announced the details about their Supernova 2016 national selection. Latvian citizens have been invited to submit their songs, or performances as singers via the website, with a closing date of November 1st 2015. A professional jury will then choose 20 participants, and will work with them from December 1st until the end of January, when the entrants in Supernova will be revealed.

LSM are planning on showing two documentaries about the selection process at the end of January. These will be followed by the live shows on Sundays in February, culminating in the Grand Final of Supernova on Sunday February 28th.  The winner of Supernova will be chosen by a combination of jury vote and televote.

Aminata was the winner of Supernova 2015, and  came 6th in Vienna, which was Latvia’s best placing since 2005.
