Lina Kuduzović: “I am so happy that I’ll represent Slovenia!”

Junior Eurovision is getting closer and closer, so we’re more than happy to announce that our next interview is coming directly from Slovenia, and their Junior entrant, Lina Kuduzović, who will sing “Prva Ljubezen / First Love” on the 21st of November in Sofia.

We had a great pleasure to speak to Lina about her upcoming performance in Junior Eurovision, and we also spoke to her about lucky charms, Maraaya, as well as her own personal favourites in this year’s Junior Eurovision. Read our interview with Lina right here:

Hi Lina! First of all thanks for your time for ESCBubble. Congratulations for winning Mini EMA. Did you expect to win at all?

No, actually I didn’t expect that at all! I am so happy that I will be representing Slovenia at Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Sofia!

This is not your first collaboration with Maraaya. How did you guys get an inspiration for your Junior Eurovision entry?

We are always in touch with Maraaya. When I saw that Mini Ema is happening, I wanted to join, because – why not – right? Then we contacted Maraaya and we made a song!

Mini EMA was not your first performance in front of the audience at all, am I right? When did you start singing?

I started to sing when I was 3. Then at age of 6 and a half, I saw the advertising on the TV for Slovenia’s Got Talent 2010. I begged my mom to join, so she let me. We all didn’t expect to come so far. But I was really happy when I won! Then, 4 years later, (almost 5 now) I joined the Swiss Got Talent show (Die Grössten Schweizer Talenten). At the audition, Sven Epiney gaved me the Golden Buzzer! I was soooo happy! The rest of the show was also awesome, but that moment at the audition will forever stay in my heart.

Talking about Swiss Got Talent – what did you learn during that experience?

I learned that it doesn’t matter how far you come, you are good. You don’t need to win, you need to participate and have the most fun you can have!

What about other songs in Junior Eurovision? Have you listened to any of your co-contestants songs so far?

Yes I did! My favorite is this year’s competition is Mikhail Smirnov from Russia! I think he has an amazing song! At second place I would put Ukraine and my third place would be Serbia!

And did you also follow Junior Eurovision in the past?

Yes I did. I loved Bulgaria (2014) and Malta (2013).

We’ve saw your music video for ‘Prva Ljubezen / First Love’. How was it recorded, and can we expect any others versions of your song? Maybe some changes or having a version in other language?

This is the final version. I may do an English version of the song, but only after Junior Eurovision.

Sounds promising! And last, but not least, did Ula Ložar (last years Slovenian representative at JESC) give you any advice about your performance in Sofia?

Yes she did! She said: Don’t bring any lucky charms with you. If you lose them, then you will have bad luck! She told me much more, but I’ll keep that as a secret.

ESCBubble would like to thank Lina Kuduzović for her time & wish her good luck during her staying in Sofia and in future as well! Take a look at Lina’s Junior Eurovision music video for ‘Prva Ljubezen / First Love’ below!
