Alexey Gross: “Flame will hook a lot of people”

Alexey Gross is taking part in the Belarussian national final for the third time. His song “Flame” was written by Eugene Oleinik, Julia Bykova and Renee Pozzi, and it will be the first song to be performed on the night of the national final.

ESCBubble had a small chat with Alexey Gross ahead of his participation in Eurofest with “Flame”. We spoke to him about his song, his team, and we found out some fun facts about him. Check all of that out right here:

First of all, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am a person who is very passionate about music. Artist of the production center “Spamash”. I love extreme sports. And I really want to represent my country in Eurovision 2016.

What was your first reaction when you found out that you made it in the top 10?

Of course, I was glad that my song has qualified, and we began diligently to prepare for the final. I hope and believe that this time the song “Flame” will hook a lot of people.

Can you tell us more about the meaning and the message behind your song “Flame”?

The basic idea is that love is above all, and only love can heal our world!

How did you get in contact with the team behind your song?

We have a very cool team, and all of us connected through music. This is the whole secret.

How are your preparations for the national final going? Do you have some ideas about your stage performance, outfit, how is everything going to look like?

It’s a secret. We have a lot of ideas and I’m sure you’ll like our song presentation.

Alexey Gross2What do you think of the change in the rules in Belarus, that only the public is going to pick the winner this year?

I think that this is very good. It will be very interesting to see who will the majority prefer, and who will they pick to represent our country.

What would representing Belarus in Eurovision mean to you?

It would be a very big responsibility to represent my country at such a competition. For me the important thing is to meet the expectations of everyone, and bring out the maximum.

Do you have a favourite Eurovision song?

Eurovision 2012, Loreen and her incredible song “Euphoria”.

Finally, do you have a message for all the Eurovision fans and readers of ESCBubble, who will be watching Eurofest this year and support you?

Love one another, and love life, as that is our essence.
