ESC Bubble’s highlights of 2015 – Part Two

Yesterday, some of our team shared their highlights of 2015. You can view that article HERE

Here are some more highlights of 2015 from the rest of our team!

MELISSA

My highlight is my home country, Australia in Eurovision for the first time! At first I wasn’t going to choose this as I didn’t think it was the best song at the contest (Hello Grande Amore!), nor do I agree with us being in Eurovision, but attending the first rehearsal, and seeing Guy perform ‘Tonight Again’, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever imagine my country competing, that there would be merchandise with my flag on it. With a good singer too! I remember being at home watching him on Idol, and crying tears when he cried tears after he sang ‘Climb Every Mountain’. The result of 5th place was just icing on the cake!

JOE

My 2015 highlight was Supernova. There was noticeable jump in effort from Latvia in their selection process which was rewarded by a fantastic result for Aminata with ‘Love Injected’. I particularly enjoyed the Rigas Bebrs (the beaver act) who would have been their Eurovision entry with the old approach, and although he didn’t make the cut for Supernova, they still brought him in to entertain the crowds during the intervals. Every Supernova show was really enjoyable this year, and this hopefully bodes well for them in 2016 too!

JAN

One of my biggest highlights was definitely seeing Måns Zelmerlöw win the Swedish national final, and seeing him so happy after his victory after coming close two times before. Apart from Melodifestivalen, one of my highlights was definitely Vienna itself. Eurovision was organized brilliantly, and the Austrians were such friendly hosts!

NATHAN

My highlight of the Eurovision 2015 season is probably Latvia and Israel finally making the final. I’ve been hoping they’d do well again and not only they qualified 2nd and 3rd placed in their semi-final respectively, but they both ended up in the top 10 in the final! It just shows that you should never give up!

ANNE

My highlight of 2015 has to be the Eurovision Greatest Hits concert at the Eventim Apollo in London back in March. It was my first ever Eurovision event, and being amongst 4,000 people, all singing along with Anne Marie David was truly magical! It will stay with me forever! I hope that there will be many more memorable moments in years to come!

MIKAEL

My highlight of the year was Shalisa’s victory at the Junior Songfestivaal 2015, back in October. Her performance during the national final was amazing. I was very happy to see her obtaining her ticket for Sofia to represent The Netherlands. In my opinion, she really deserved to represent her country at the Junior Song Contest 2015.

So that’s everyone’ highlights of 2015! What about you? What was your highlight of 2015? Let us know!
