Ukraine to select their Eurovision entry on the 21st of February!

 

NTU has just informed ESCBubble that the official dates of the Ukrainian national selection for Eurovision have just been announced. The semifinals for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 are scheduled for the 6th and the 13th of February, while the Grand Final is going to take place on the 21st February 2016.

Both two semi finals as well as the Grand Final of the Ukrainian selection will be broadcast live on two Ukrainian TV channels: UA Pershyi and STB at 19:00 (local time). The winner, and the next Ukrainian entrant in the Eurovision Song Contest will be chosen in a mixed voting: jury and televoting.

The producer of the national selection for Eurovision 2016 will be a well known Ukrainian author and composer – Konstantin Meladze.

The application period will last till 20 January 2016, and applications are being accepted via this website: http://eurovision.stb.ua/.

Ukraine last took part in 2014 in Copenhagen, when Mariya Yaremchuk represented her country with the song “Tick Tock”, which ended up in 6th place in the Grand Final.
