Barei is YOUR winner of Objetivo Eurovision!

Since the release of the six songs competing in the Spanish national selection, we have been running a poll where you could vote for the one act you would like to see representing Spain in Eurovision 2016 in Stockholm. Tonight at 22:30 CET, Spain will choose Edurne’s successor, and we are thus ready to reveal, that the favourite act of our readers is Barei with her song “Say Yay”!

With a smashing victory of 42 percent Barei won our poll, and she is followed by the Junior Eurovision winner, Maria Isabel, with 18 percent of the votes.

Here is the full ranking:

  1. Barei – Say Yay 42%
  2. Maria Isabel – La vida solo es una 18%
  3. Xuso Jones – Victorious 15%
  4. Electric Nana – Now 11%
  5. Salvador Beltran – Dias de alegria 9%
  6. Maverick – Un mundo mas feliz 5%

Seven of our editors (Ahmad, Anne, Danny, Ervin, Frederico, Maciej and Mikael) have also cast their votes in Eurovision style (6, 7, 8, 10 and 12 points), and our outcome is as follows:

76 Barei
61 Maria Isabel
54 Electic Nana
51 Salvador Beltran
51 Xuso Jones
41 Maverik

Our editors completely agreed with our readers that Barei should win tonight, and go on to represent Spain in Eurovision 2016 with “Say Yay”! Ervin loves the melody of “Say Yay”, its flow, and Barei’s vocals. He added that this song sounds VERY international, and that it will definitely make the crowd move, sing along to, and with a right performance this could easily end up on the left-side of the scoreboard in Stockholm. Danny says that Barei’s song is fresh, vibrant and catchy and completely different to anything that Spain have ever sent before. Anne worries about Barei’s live vocals, but can see herself dancing crazily around to “Say Yay” after a bottle of Prosecco (or two).

You can still vote in our poll until the show ends tonight. What do you think? Vote in our poll, and let us know in the comments below!
