Simone: “My staging is going to be full of effects and emotions”

After taking part in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in 2010 with “How Will I Know” and then her second attempt in 2013 with “Stay Awake”, Simone is back in this competition for the third time, and will try to win the Danish Eurovision ticket this year with her brand new song “Heart Shaped Hole”.

We had a great pleasure to chat with Simone about her career, her experience in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, and of course – her newest song. Check out everything she told us in this interview right here:

Hello Simone! First of all, this is going to be your third time competing at Dansk Melodi Gran Prix. The current Eurovision Winner Mans Zelmerlow won Melodifestivalen in his third attempt. Do you think this is third time lucky?

I hope so! 🙂 – It would be a big dream of mine coming true!

What’s the difference between this song and your two previous ones?

I think this song has an unique international sound. And that, will make it a strong candidate for ESC, but also that the song would be able to get played a lot on the radios afterwards.

What can you tell us about your song?

Well, it’s a strong song about letting go, and focusing on the light at the end of the tunnel.

Simone DMGPThe title of your song is “Heart Shaped Hole”. It sounds really dramatic, did someone leave a heart shaped hole in you?

I don´t think that someone did, but maybe something did – we have all been in situations where we have to focus on being strong, making difficult decisions and to learn from them. So if all the life experience that I have was shaped as a heart, then yes! 🙂

Can you tell us more about your staging for DMGP?

I can´t tell you much yet, other than it is going to be full of effects and emotions.

You released three albums so far. How do you feel about the prospect of going to Eurovision as an established artist?

It feels good. I have some experience, that I can use on the stage as well as backstage, and I deffinately see that as a good thing.

Unfortunately, Denmark didn’t qualify for the Eurovision Final in Vienna. What do you think you can do to bring Denmark back into the final?

To participate with a strong song with a unique international sound.

Finally, do you have amessage for all the Eurovision fans and readers of ESCBubble?

Thank you so much for reading this. I hope to see you all in Eurovision 2016 in Stockholm!

Thank you very much Simone for your time for doing this interview with us, and we wish you the best of luck in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix!
