Zoë is going to Stockholm for Austria!

After a nail biting show, Zoë won the Austrian national final with her song ‘Loin d’ici’ and will represent her home nation in Stockholm.

In the first round, 10 songs competed and after the jury and televote had voted, the top three were announced as:

  • Elly V – I’ll Be Around (Bounce)
  • Bella Wagner – Weapons Down
  • Zoë – Loin d’ici

The top two were then revealed as Zoë and Elly V and both girls performed their songs again. After a 90 second speed voting, 19 year old Zoë Straub was revealed as the winner!

Zoë of course is no stranger to the Austrian national final, where she finished third last year with her song ‘Quel filou’ and just missed out on the superfinal. Her debut album, ‘Debut’ with all tracks completely in French was released to rave reviews late last year.

This will be the first time that Austria have been represented by a French language entry, and Zoë will perform in the second half of the first semi final on Tuesday 10 May. She’ll be hoping to improve on The Makemakes nul points last year!
