The national broadcaster of Azerbaijan, Ictimai, have just announced that Samra Rahimli is going to represent Azerbaijan at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest!
More than 100 music and television industry experts and some Eurovision fans from over 35 European countries were asked to fill out a survey, with the question who should be representing Azerbaijan in Eurovision 2016. In the end, the decision was that Samra Rahimli is the one who will fly the Azeri flag in Stockholm. The song she is going to be singing is called “Miracle”, and it will be released at some point this weekend.
Samra participated in The Voice of Turkey in 2015 where she made it to the quarterfinals, and in March 2016 she became the first season’s finalist of The Voice of Azerbaijan. Check out one of her songs from The Voice right here:
