Anahit and Mary will represent Armenia in Valletta!

This morning, ARMTV announced that Anahit Adamyan and Mary Vardanyan will represent Armenia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016, in Malta.

Anahit and Mary are both 13 years old. Born in Sochi, Anahit started singing at a very young age and participated in the Russian version of ”The Voice: Kids”, in 2013. She is ”very honoured and happy to be given a chance to represent Armenia at this year’s Junior Eurovision!”

Mary was born in Armenia, in the city of Vardenis. She also started singing at a very young age. Five years ago, she started her studies at the “Do – Re – Mi” vocal school. Mary competed in various music competitions, as well. She has “always dreamed of singing in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.” She ”can’t believe that my dream is finally coming true!”

The song that the two girls will sing in Valetta will be revealed later, in fall.

This year, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in the capital city of Malta, Valetta, on the afternoon of Sunday 20 November, after Destiny Chukunyere’s victory in Sofia, last year. Malta also hosted this contest back in 2014.

Last year, in Sofia, Mika finished in 2nd place, behind Destiny, with a total of 176 points. Armenia won the contest, back in 2010, with Vladimir Arzumanyan and his song ”Mama”.
