Polish National Final postponed!

Polish broadcaster TVP announced today that the National Final will take place one week later than previously scheduled. Instead of 11th of February, the new Polish entrant will be selected on 18th Feburary at 20:30 CET. Also TVP opens the submission period again and all Polish artists can submit their songs until 10th of February. Rules remain the same as previously, that means foreign singers/bands are not allowed to take part in Polish National Final 2017.

The official reason of this changes is the high interest – TVP received 132 songs which is the second highest result after 2011 when almost 200 entries have been collected from Polish artists. Unofficial rumors said TVP is not happy with current quality level of received entries and the professional jury was not able to select at least 5 good songs to compete in the final. Also TVP hopes for more big names with high quality songs to improve the TV rates. So far unknown artists dominate among the entries.

Worth to mention, few previous NF’s participants decided to submit their songs for the show. Among them Kasia Mos (2006, 2016), Iwona Wegrowska (2010) and Gosia Andrzejewicz (Belorussian finalist in 2006). Kasia Popowska, Lanberry, Ronney, AreQue, Monika Urlik and German “Idol” winner Aneta Sablik were among the candidates as well.
