Jacques Houdek started shooting the videoclip for “My Friend”

Jacques Houdek was internally selected by HRT to represent Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with his song “My Friend”. After the lyric video for his Eurovision song reached over one million views, Jacques now started to film the official video clip for his Eurovision entry.

The music video for “My Friend” will be directed by a well-known and successful director Katja Restović. Jacques Houdek has already collaborated with her for various of his music videos, and also directed the music video for Doris Dragović’s Eurovision entry “Marija Magdalena” in 1999. Katja stated:

I have great respect for Jacques’ exceptional talent, and working with him has always been an honor. We share the same sense of aesthetics, quality, and artistic sensibility, and I am truly enjoying working on the project. The video clip will have a very human, emotional, warm touch, and its message will celebrate the miracle of life. Our differences are supposed to bring us together instead of dividing us, because life isn’t a dress rehearsal – we should live in the moment. We all forget and ignore this all too often, and so this video and song are a true challenge. I will try to make the video engender the emotion that Jacques has so richly provided with his voice, and this is exactly what he wants and expects from me as director.

Jacques Houdek is very happy to be filming the video clip for his Eurovision song in Zagreb, the city he grew up in. He stated:

I have worked closely with the director of the music video for years. The video will be filmed on the city streets, and it will be simple, lively, and human. It will follow a few parallel stories that portray the everyday life that surrounds us all.

The filming started yesterday in Zagreb, and the final parts should be filmed today, and it is expected that this video clip will be released in the beginning of April. In the meanwhile, let’s once again watch the lyric video of the Croatian Eurovision entry here:
