Annette Heick and Johannes Nymark return as Dansk Melodi Grand Prix hosts!

Danish broadcaster DR has just released details concerning the Danish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.

The Danish national final will be held on the 10th of February 2018 in Gigantium in Aalborg, an arena with a concert capacity of 8500 people. This is the seventh time the city will be hosting a Dansk Melodi Grand Prix final.

As for the presenters: DR were so pleased with Annette Heick and Johannes Nymark’s performance last year, they asked them back! So for Johannes this will be the second time and for Annette Heick the third time even (in a row!), as she hosted the 2016 edition together with Jacob Riising and singer Hilda Heick, her very own mother.

Annette is a TV personality, journalist, cartoon voice actress and singer and daughter of singer Hilda Heick. Johannes is a singer and actor and was part of the group Lighthouse X, that represented Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 is Stockholm.

Both Annette and Johannes are excited to do it again! Annette says:

I simply am so proud that I’m almost bursting! I can almost not thank enough for the pat on the back it is to get to be a host for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix again. The Grand Prix is in my DNA, so to be part of the show again means something very special to me.

Johannes is no less excited and states:

It’s a fantastic feeling to get to do something, that I thought was incredibly cool, again! Next year, the challenge will be to do something different and something hopefully more awesome than what we did this year, and I’m looking forward to that!

Jan Lagerman Lundme, head of entertainment at DR is very happy with his hosts and says:

I’m very happy that Annette and Johannes have said yes to being hosts again. They have a shared passion and love for Melodi Grand Prix and their chemistry is unmatched. It was amazing last time and it will be a huge pleasure to see them together on stage in Gigantium in Aalborg again.

In the meantime DR have been accepting song submissions all year long and will do so until September 15, after which they will start the song selection for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2018.
