Belgium will choose its entrant internally for Eurovision 2018

Belgium is one of very few countries to achieve a top 10 placing every year since 2014 – with Loic Nottet, Laura Tesoro, and earlier this year with Blanche. Now VRT (Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroep), the Flemish Belgian national broadcaster, is close to coming to a decision on who to send to Lisbon, to represent Belgium in Eurovision 2018.

Mr. Hans Van Goethem, the spokesman of VRT, stated that they are in talks with established acts and that they are close to making a decision about their Eurovision 2018 entrant, but also noted that the most important thing is to find a great match between a singer and a song.

The last time VRT had a completely internal selection was back in 2010, when Tom Dice represented his country in Oslo with “Me And My Guitar”, and finished in 6th place. The last time VRT sent an entrant to Eurovision was in 2016, when Laura Tesoro sang “What’s The Pressure”, and finished in 10th place.
