San Marino is looking for YOU!

San Marinese broadcaster SMRTV have just held a press conference regarding their plans for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. They promised something revolutionary and they have indeed come up with something never seen before!

For 2018 the broadcaster joined forces with 1in360 to create a talent show, open to people from any country, singing any style of music and open to you as long as you are 16 years or older.

This is what’s gonna happen:

Stage 1: In this stage you can either sing a cover or an original song by you, alone or in a group (as long as it doesn’t have more than 6 members). These files can be uploaded on the 1in360-website starting from today and the submissions close on the 30th of November.

Stage 2: When your submissions has appeared on the website, which will be starting from November 1, you can start sharing it on your social media accounts in order to gain likes. A panel will evaluate all of those who either got a minimum of 100 likes or paid a non-refundable fee of €4,99. Those meeting these requirements will be evalued by the 1in360-panel. A total of 10 acts will be invited to the first of seven live shows in January 2018, shows that will be broadcasted online and through satellite TV. Three of the 10 candidates may have been given a wildcard and parts of the show will be filmed and broadcasted in 360° and with the use of virtual reality.

Stage 3: This is the stage of the live shows and the contestants try to reach and win the final in order to become the San Marinese representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. And that is not all: an album will be recorded with you as a bonus!

In the rules it also says: ”Songs for the three candidates with the most votes in the live recorded shows will be chosen internally in consultation with the candidates and be submitted to a public vote in the final show at the end of February 2018.”
