Serbia will select their entry through Beovizija 2018!

It has been revealed that broadcaster RTS will, after a long pause, use the national final format Beovizija again to select the Serbian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest! This was confirmed to newspaper Blic by Olivera Kovačević, Editor of Entertainment Programmes at RTS.

The submissions already opened back in August, but back then it wasn’t known yet that the chosen entries would be competing in Beovizija, which was last used to select the Serbian entry in 2009, when Marko Kon and Milan Nikolic won the ticket to Moscow.
The submission deadline will close on the 20th of October and then a yet to be chosen jury will select up to 10 songs to compete in the national final, which is to take place somewhere in February next year. On that night, the winner will be chosen through a mix of jury voting and televoting.

Further Olivera Kovačević says they didn’t decide yet on wether to host the national selection in one of the RTS studios or at the conference venue Sava Centar.
