LRT announces line-up for the Lithuanian National final with two familiar faces

Lithuanian channel LRT has today announced who will be in the line up for next years’ National final, with two familiar faces taking part.

Starting on January 6th, more than 50 performers and groups will compete in the National final. For the selection, the singers can either use their own song or sing a song written especially for them.

One of the most well known acts in the contest who’s been announced is Erica Jennings who competed in the National final last year with the song ‘Leading me home’, aswell as competing in the main Eurovision in 2001 with the song ‘You got style’ , coming 13th as part of the group Skamp.

Another contender who previously took part in the National final is Greta Zazza who will next year sing the song ‘Broken Shadows‘ which you can see in the link below:

Greta previously took part in the National selection last year with the song ‘Like I love you’ coming 6th at the National final

Rasa Kaušiūtė

Eglė Jakštytė

Donata Virbilaitė

Ieva Zasimauskaitė

 

On the men’s side there are also well-known performers. The selection will include:

Vidas Bareikis

Gabrielius Vagelis

Jurgis Brūzga

Robert Kupstas

El Fuego

The Roop

EGO

Solar Closer

and many more.

 

In March, it will be announced who will represent Lithuania in Eurovision 2018.  Presenting the show will be Ugnė Skonsmanaitė and actor Mantas Stonkus.

In the press report LRT said

“This is not just an artist selection competition, but an event of our entire country, so you need to show your heart and your concern. And when the performers feel such love from Lithuania, they will go to Eurovision to carry out very large works. And we will be a beautiful, youthful, lively duo, we will be ourselves. And will we be sharp? Yes, “

Lithuania have had mixed results in the contest over the last few years, coming 9th in 2016, but failing to qualify this year. Their best result was in 2006 when the band LT United sung ‘We are the winners’
