It’s Lindita for Albania!

Over the past four hours, the 55th edition of Festivali i Këngës has been taking place in Albania, and we now have the artist and song that will be going* to Kiev in May 2017!

Moments ago, Lindita won tonight’s contest with her song Botë!

Fourteen acts competed during the course of the evening, which were as follows:

Dilan Reka – Mos harro

Edea Demaliaj – Besoj në ëndrra

Fabiola Agalliu & Agnesa Çavolli – Shkon e vjen

Flaka Krelani – Osiris

Franc Koruni – Macka

Genc Salihu – Këtu

Lindita – Botë

Lorela – Me ty

LYNX – Sot

Orges Toçe – Shi diamantesh

Rezarta Smaja – Pse prite gjatë

Xhesika Polo – Eva jam unë

Xuxi – Metropol
Yll Limani – Shiu

The winning song was decided by both a professional jury, plus a public vote that included votes from viewers on a Facebook app.

*Even though Albania has chosen their performer and song during Festivali i Këngës this evening, it’s probably not worth placing your 2017 bets just yet. It’s quite common for Albania to change some aspects of their winning song – so your guess is as good as ours as to whether it will actually make it to Ukraine in its current format!
