Eurovision 2017 to be shown in cinemas around France!

It has happened before that editions of the Eurovision Song Contest were broadcasted live on the big screen in cinemas, but this year we have a first with that happening on a nationwide scale: in France!
Reason for this is a revival in interest in the contest in France after Amir achieved 6th place in Stockholm last year, the country’s best result since 2002!

This opportunity is the result of a collaboration, as explained by the Executive Director of France 2, Caroline Got:

”We at France 2 are proud to support this popular event with France 4 (which will be broadcasting the Semi-Finals). France Televisions is excited to offer this world premiere with CGR Cinemas Group and Warner Music France”.

Edoardo Grassi, the Head of Delegation for France, is excited:

“Last year our aim was to put the Eurovision Song Contest back on the public radar in France. It’s the biggest live show in the world and everyone deserves the chance to experience it as if they were there live in Kyiv. The cinematic experience allows those who cannot travel to have a live experience only a few miles from home. People will be able to bring their flags, tweet their reviews of the songs and vote from the comfort of their cinema seat!”.

A special ad was made for the occasion, featuring last year’s representative Amir and this year’s hopeful Alma:
