Institut Integral did a survey about the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 and Vienna as the host city of the competition. 703 people took part, and the results are quite satisfactory. 95% of people (over 14 years old) know that Eurovision 2015 will be hosted in Austria and 63% of them are happy because of it. Only 8% found it bad for their country, while 25% didn’t have any opinion. 73% supported the EBU and ORF decision to name Vienna as the host city. Of course, the most positive opinions came from Viennese, but it’s worth to mention that 69% of Tyroleans are happy about that as well, even if Innsbruck failed to win the bid to host the Contest.
86% believe that Eurovision 2015 will be a great opportunity for Austria and Vienna to promote in Europe. Only 54% think that Austria will benefit from the competition (i.e. economically), but chances for Vienna to benefit are much higher – 71% of respondents said that the capital city could profit because of Eurovision. Almost 56% are sure ORF can do well and profit of hosting and organize this contest.
60% will watch at least one of the three shows on television. 28% would like to follow the Contest in a public place, while 23% plan to watch it live in Stadthalle.
