A big change is happening in France Televisions regarding the Eurovision Song Contest, as their second channel France 2 is now taking over the Eurovision project from France 3, which was broadcasting the Contest, and selecting the French entry in the past 16 years!

France 2 was in charge of the French Eurovision entries, as well as broadcasting the Contest from 1983 up until 1998, in which period they achieved two second places – in 1990 with Joelle Ursull and her “White And Black Blues” and the following year with Amina’s “C’est le dernier qui a parlé qui a raison”.

France 3 always had stable viewing figures on a Eurovision night. They had a 13.6% share, with 2.6 million viewers last May, while their biggest share was in 2009 when Patricia Kaas represented France with Et s’il fallait le faire” – 32.2% share, and 5.7 million viewers.

Twin Twin represented France in Copenhagen with “Moustache”, bringing France’s first ever last place in the Eurovision Song Contest. We shall soon find out what are France 2 preparing for us for 2015.
