“My Slowianie” honoured in Poland again

Lasy night Eska Music Awards 2014, a major Polish awards ceremony, was held in Szczecin in north Poland, co-hosted by Mikolaj Dobrowolski, who was the Head of Polish Eurovision delegation in 2014, and this award ceremony was aired live at TVP 1.

This year’s Polish Eurovision entry “My Slowianie”  by Donatan & Cleo won the “Best Hit of 2014” award, but Cleo failed to win the “Best Female Artist” and “Best Radio Début” category. Another success for Polish duo was 1st place in category “Best Artist in Social Media”, which means that their entry is the most popular song on the Internet. Unfortunately, their famous videoclip was defeated by a popular male singer Mrozu in the “Best Videoclip” category. Donatan & Cleo had two nominations in this category – not only for “My Slowianie” but for another song “Cicha Woda” as well.

Donatan & Cleo, as well as Mazovian girls and two top models performed last night on stage in Szczecin. They presented their Eurovision staging for “My Slowianie”, and they also performed their new song “Cicha woda”. You can check amateur video from this performance below. Another Eurovision act in Eska Music Awards 2014 was trio Elaiza, who represented Germany in ESC 2014 with “Is it right” – this song managed to become a big hit in Poland, probably due to lead singer Ela’s Polish roots.

This year Poland returned to Eurovision Song Contest after two years of absence. The internally chosen extra-popular duo Donatan & Cleo represented this country with “My Slowianie – We Are Slavic” and managed to qualify to the Grand Final where they finished 14th, which is the 4th best result in Polish Eurovision history.
