Alisa will represent Russia in Junior Eurovision

Talented girls will dominate Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014. Russia became the 11th country which will be represented by a female singer – Alisa Kozhikina, the winner of “The Voice. Kids” in Russia. Her song “Dreamer” is composed by Max Fadeev (author of two Russian Eurovision entries – 2004 and 2007) with lyrics by Olga Seryabkina (ESC 2007) and Alisa herself. Russian broadcaster Karusel didn’t announce when the song will be published.

Alisa was born in 2003 in Kursk region, same as Tolmachevy sisters who won Junior Eurovision in 2006, and represented Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest this year. Alisa already managed to impress the jury and viewers of New Wave Junior 2012, Baltic Constellation 2012, Constellation of Youth 2011, The Rose of Winds 2012 and different contests but is mainly known from “The Voice Kids”, where she won with stunning 400.000 votes in the final, and got the chance to sign a contract with Universal Music Russia.

So far 11 out of 12 selected Junior Eurovision 2014 acts are girls. On stage in Marsa Shipyard we will see female solo singers from Cyprus, Armenia, Bulgaria, Malta, Sweden, Russia, Georgia and Slovenia as well as Montenegrin female duo and Ukrainian female trio. So far only Italy decided to send a male voice to Malta. Netherlands, San Marino and Serbia didn’t announce their entrants yet. In the Junior Eurovision history, female singers won this Contest six times (four solo singers, one duo, and one group), while only four times male singers managed to get the Grand Prix. Only one time a mixed trio won the competition, it was in 2008 when Georgia won with Bzikebi.
