DR opens submissions for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix!

After Finland and Sweden, another Nordic country opens the submission period for the national selection – Denmark! The hosts of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest will accept songs for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2015 until the 8th of September.

As previously announced, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2015 will take place on the 7th of February, in Aalborg. A selection committee will listen through all the received songs, and select the 10 to enter the televised final.

DR’s Entertainment Manager, Jan Lagermand Lundme, says that the selection committee will be made of music industry professionals, but also a range of ordinary people, because that is the best way to ensure that the best songs are being selected for the national final. He added that they have invited a number of composers to send their songs in, and that DR is looking for “real music”, and not just a national final hit.
