Eight shows, and two finals in Lithuania for 2015!
Lithuania had one of the most complicated formulas to select their Eurovision entrant this year, and they will be using the same formula for 2015! A separate contest for artists, and for the songs, eight shows, and two finals in order to select who will represent Lithuania in Vienna.
Lithuanian national broadcaster LRT has announced that in 2015 they will be using the same Eurovision formula they did this year. Two separate contests will be going on at the same time – one of them to select the singer, and the other one to select the song. All interested singers wishing to take part in the Lithuanian national selection need to send their applications to LRT (they have to be citizens of Lithuania), while the song competition will start in due course, and composers from all over the world will be welcome to send in their songs. The artist that wins the national selection will perform in Vienna the song that wins the song selection.
The national selection will start in January 2015, and will consist of eight shows in total (unless extended, as it was the case last year, due to public demand).
Vilija won last year’s Lithuanian national final, and the song she co-composed won the song competition. She sang “Attention” in Copenhagen, but failed to bring Lithuania to the Eurovision final, first time since 2010.
