RTS to select the Serbian entry internally

Serbian broadcaster RTS announced that this year’s entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be selected internally due to lack of time for organising a professional national final. A team from the RTS Musics Department is currently working hard to establish a perfect group of composers and to select a junior singer.

Serbia returns to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest after 3 years of absence. The last time Serbia participated in the contest was in 2010 – Sonja Skoric presented the song “Carobna noc” and finished 3rd. In 2007, Nevena Bozovic achieved the same result with her ballad “Pisi mi”. She was also the first JESC entrant who took part in the “adult” Eurovision as well (as part of Moje 3 in 2013). So far, Serbia participated in the JESC five times, and Sonja’s and Nevena’s songs achieved the highest scores in the country’s history.

It is yet unknown when RTS will announce the artist to be selected, and when the song will be published. In the meantime, have a listen to the last Serbian Junior Eurovision entry right here:
