RTSH calls for songs for Festivali i Kenges

RTSH are starting their search for songs for the 53rd edition of Festivali i Kenges, the traditional Albanian festival, where the winner gets the Albanian ticket for the Eurovision Song Contest. RTSH is going to be accepting songs on the 14th and 15th of October (this coming Sunday and Monday).

RTSH has invited all singers and songwriters to bring in their songs to Radio Tirana on the 14th and 15th of October, between 9 am and 2 pm. All singers who would like to apply have to be at least 16 years old, and composers should present only one song each. A selection jury will then listen through all the songs received during these two days, and select the best ones to enter this year’s Festivali i Kenges.

As we reported earlier, there’s a big possibility that Arbana Osmani, a very popular tv presenter in Albania, is going to host the Festival this year.

Albania achieved their best result in Eurovision in Baku, when Rona Nishliu with “Suus” managed to finish fifth. Hersi Matmuja represented Albania in Copenhagen, but unfortunately she didn’t manage to qualify for the Grand Final.
