Submission period for Melodifestivalen 2015 is open

The two week submission period for the Swedish national selection Melodifestivalen 2015 has just started! All that composers and artists need to do in order to submit their song is to register on SVT’s page dedicated for song submission, and upload their entry.

There are two different submission contests – Regular Contest, for authors who have already published their musical work (where the entrants must state the ISRC code of their previously published works), and Public Contest, for authors who haven’t had published any musical work so far. A selection panel will select at least one entry from the Public Contest, and select the rest from the Regular Contest.

The change in the rules for Melodifestivalen 2015 is that at least 50% of the selected songs will be written by female composers and lyricists. Melodifestivalen will once again accepts authors from outside of Sweden as well, as long as they collaborate with Swedish composers.

The deadline for submitting the songs is on the 16th of September, at 8:59 am.
