The Ukrainian national broadcaster has just announced that they will not take part in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Vienna!

NTU explains that Ukraine has to withdraw, due to financial reasons, and they hope that their withdrawal will only last for one year, and that they will send an entrant in 2016. Zurab Alasanya, the CEO of NTU said that they understand that Eurovision is an important and prestigious event, but at the moment they haven’t got funds to take part, therefore they had to make this decision.

Vlad Baginsky, the head of the entertaining department, said that they have contacted many artists, but they declined the participation because the entertaining projects these days are not completely relevant, and that funds can be used more wisely.

Ukraine debuted in 2003, and hasn’t missed a Contest ever since. They made it to the Final in every single occasion, and won the Contest in 2004.
