Vincenzo Cantiello will represent Italy in Malta!

The musical event, Junior Eurovision Song Contest, dedicated to young singers between the ages 10 and 15, has been continuously running since 2003, however, it is the first year that Italy is taking part in the event.

The talented Vincenzo (13) is no stranger to the Italian television viewers. He was one of the contestants in the latest edition of the children’s musical programme “Ti lascio una canzone”. Leonardo De Amicis, an Italian composer, chose Vincenzo internally from a pool of junior talents that previously partecipated in a show hosted by Antonella Clerici. De Amicis will be managing the whole artistic bundle of the Italian representative. The reason why De Amicis chose the youngster is because of his amazing voice, so he said.

This is the first time that Italy is participating in the junior version of the contest, but it is not the first time that “Ti lascio una canzone” is co-involved in the event. San Marino’s last year’s representative Michele Perniola also participated in the show, along with Malta’s last year’s winner Gaia Cauchi, and Federica Falzon, who will represent the host country this November. All three are former participants in the show which was broadcasted on RAI Uno.

Italy will broadcast this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest live on Rai Gulp.
