Anggun: “Aram Mp3 sings extremely well”

Armenian portal News.am published an interview with Anggun, the singer who represented France in 2012 with “Echo (You and I)”. The popular star finished only 22nd with 21 point, but despite this failure she still likes Eurovision, and mentions it in a nice way. Armenia did not participate in Eurovision 2012 due to the conflict with Azerbaijan, but the Contest was one of the topics in the interview for News.am.

Anggun said that fame and popularity of performers are not important during Eurovision. “Let’s not forget, that it’s Eurovision Song Contest, so the songs are the stars, the singers are only messengers”. She was happy to see Blue, Engelbert Humperdinck, Anouk or Bonnie Tyler participating in the contest. Anggun was asked about the Armenian entries as well. “I actually remember the Dorians, because I thought “Lonely Planet” was a very good rock song, as well as Inga and Anush with their strong vocals. Most of the Armenian singers are extremely good vocalists, and Aram mp3 from this year’s Eurovision sings extremely well too.”

Even though France participated in Junior Eurovision only once (in 2004), News.am asked Anggun about this contest as well and about her opinion of “People of the Sun” – the song which will represent Armenia in Malta this year. “It’s a very different choice of songs from the previous ones that represented Armenia, but it’s fresh and very catchy. If you put up a good stage performance, fingers crossed, it can appeal to the judges as well as the public. Good luck!” – Anggun said.

The French-Indonesian singer also mentioned that she is recording her new album right now. She will release it in mid-2015. “Who knows, maybe this next album will bring me to Armenia.” – she said.
