Bosnia & Herzegovina not withdrawing their Eurovision application!

Dejan Kukric, head of Entertainment and Music Department of BHRT informed Klix.ba that Bosnian broadcaster did not withdraw from Eurovision 2015, and that their application is still valid and will remain so until new and official information will be announced. “There is still good will to participate and we hope that soon we will be able to provide you with happy news and more details” – Kukric said.

It is still not confirmed if Bosnia and Herzegovina received any special permission from EBU to decide about participation in Eurovision 2015 later than other countries. Today is the deadline to withdraw without a fee, and the last undecided nations as Poland, Slovenia or Bulgaria decided about their participation in ESC 2015. Poland and Slovenia are taking part, while Bulgaria will not be in Vienna.

According to newspaper “Avaz”, the Bosnian participation fee for taking part in Eurovision 2015 is approx. 25.000 euro. This newspaper predicts that BHRT should secure around all together 150.000 euro to prepare the new entry, and promote it before the contest. So far there are no rumours regarding who should represent Bosnia & Herzegovina in Vienna. The frontman of the bend Dubioza kolektiv, Branko Jakubovic,  said he is not interested in doing Eurovision. “To waste a lot of money from national budget for someone’s self promotion and flying national flag for three minutes to represent the country is so disgusting. If there are people who want to play like that, they should use their own money and then they can represent us as many times as they want” – he answered to the fans who created a Facebook fan page “We want Dubioza kolektiv in Eurovision”.

Last Bosnian entry was “Korake ti znam” performed by Maya Sar in Baku during the final of Eurovision 2012. She finished 18th, which was the worst Bosnian result since 1996.
