Last song for JESC presented

Malta is the last country to reveal their song for Junior Eurovision 2014. Just minutes ago, the Maltese national broadcaster has premiered the song “Diamonds”,  thus completing the presentation of all sixteen songs that will participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

The song was officially presented during a conference which took place today at mid-day, at Federica Falzon’s school – St Benedict’s College. More than 300 pupils of the school attended the launch of her song. The presentation was streamed live from the school’s Hal Kirkop.

“Diamonds” was written by Federica Falzon in collaboration with Elton Zarb, Matthew (Muxu) Mercieca and Gillian Attard. The trio – Zarb, Mercieca and Attard – is also responsible for producing last year’s winning song “The Start”.

Federica’s song “Diamonds” is complemented by an impressive video clip.  The video shows an ambitious imaginative girl who is reaching for her visions. The style of the video is quite abstract and creative, encompassing two different locations. The first shows Federica in a white room, which is to represent a girl’s mind, and the second location – at the beach – which is to portray a place where a girl is looking for her dreams. The song as well as the video clip include diamonds as a metaphor to suggest that every dream is reachable as long as one believes in them.

VSquared Media and Entertainment for PBS Ltd. produced and directed the video for Federica’s song “Diamonds”.
