As Dansk Melodi Grand Prix is coming closer, DR decided to make a few changes regarding the visual identity of this Contest, and also to create a new slogan, in order to make everything a lot more modern, classic and durable.
The old logo with the stars is being replaced by a completely new logo, which is a round element from which organic sound waves emerge. Jan Lagermand Lundme, Entertainment Manager at DR, said that it is important to have a logo that is modern, that can last for many years, but one that also goes back in time, as a logo has to be trendy, classic and durable. He also added that the new logo should last for at least ten years, with slight changes (for example, change of colours). Mr. Lundme also added that the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix traditions have not been thrown away completely, because if you look at the new logo from far away, it also looks like a star.
DR have also came up with a new slogan for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. The new slogan “The Dream Lives” refers to the fact that many dream of succeeding in the music industry, or that Danes as a country dream of winning the Eurovision Song Contest once again.
