Maidan TV, host broadcaster of Turkvizyon 2014 in Kazan (Tatarstan, Russia) informed how to buy tickets for the semifinal and final of the show which will be held in Tatneft Arena. Official website of the venue offers tickets in 13 different sectors, as well as on the floor. More than 6300 ticket are still available, the cheapest one in price of 4 euro, and the most expensive for 20 euro. Everyone who would like to buy tickets has to register on the website first.
The semi final of Turkvizyon 2014 will be held on 19th November, the final 2 days later – 21st November. According to the official website Turkvizyon.tv, 21 countries or regions will take part in the show. There are independent countries such as Uzbekistan, Russia (debut), Germany (debut), Azerbaijan (last year’s winner), Georgia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey (last year’s host), Bosnia & Herzegovina and Macedonia. Many regions with large Turkish population will send their entries to Kazan – Tatarstan (host), Bashkortostan, Crimea, Gagauzia, Kabardino-Balkaria & Karachay-Cherkessia, Khakassia, Northern Cyprus, Tuva and Yakutia. Altai Republic, Belarus, Kemerovo, Kosovo and Romania withdrew from the competition even if two of them – Altai and Belarus – finished in the top five in the final in 2013, held in Eskisehir, Turkey.
The updated rules of Turkvizyon Song Contest obligate all broadcasters to choose their entrants through a national selection. Some of them made their choices already. Eldar Zhanikaev will represent Kabardino-Balkaria & Karachay-Cherkessia for the second time in the row, Elvin Ordubadli will fight for the second victory for Azerbaijan, Mariya Topal will try to bring Gagauzia to the final, Aysel Mammadova will sing for Georgia, Aydar Suleymanov will fly the flag of the host republic Tatarstan, and Russia will be represented by band Kazan World, which finished 2nd in the Tatar National Final 2014. The songs for this contest have not been published yet.
Last year Turkey hosted the first ever Turkvizyon Song Contest, which goal is to promote Turkish culture and unite Turks in Europe, Asia and Middle East. Farid Hasanov from Azerbaijan received 210 points from international jury and finished first with song “Yasa”. Belarus was ranked 2nd with Gunesh (who also took part various times in the Belarusian natinal final for the Eurovision Song Contest), Ukraine 3rd with Fazile Ibraimova. Televoting is planned to be used in 2014, but the exact formula of the contest is still unknown, as well as the hosts.
