Malta will be represented by Amber at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna in May after winning the national contest held at Malta Shipbuilding, which ended just minutes ago.
Amber sung the song Warrior which received maximum points from all five judges, and also the televote which counted for a sixth of the overall result. In the end, Amber obtained the full 72 points. Warrior is written by Matt (Muxu) Mercieca and composed by Elton Zarb.
The song was chosen from the 14 finalists which qualified in yesterday’s semi-final.
Take a listen to Malta’s song for Eurovision 2015:
The show was opened by Conchita Wurst, last year’s Eurovision winner, who sung her last year’s winning song Rise Like a Phoenix. During the interval act, Conchita also sung her latest hit Heroes.
Besides Conchita, last year’s Maltese representative Firelight also took the stage. The band sang three songs, of which one was their Eurovision 2014 entry Coming Home. Firelight ended up 23rd in the final in Copenhagen last May.
