A new Eurovision selection process in Latvia – Supernova 2015!

The Latvian national broadcaster have just announced the rules and regulations, as well as the format of their new national selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, called Supernova 2015!

LTV have just started their search for the next Latvian Eurovision entrant! LTV looks for songs that will not only be attractive to Latvians, but also to people from other European countries as well. They intend to find the perfect mix of composers and artists, which will hold the attention of the public not just for a couple of months, but for a long time. The goal of this new competition is to find a song that will be able to captivate, excite and make millions of people around the world sing to.

Soloists as well as groups of up to six members are welcome to apply for Supernova 2015! If you are a composer, and you want to submit your song, it must not have been published of played before. Authors and performers will be judged by a specially formed jury, made of music industry professionals from Latvia and abroad. The deadline to enter is the 10th of December.

There will be three semi-final shows on the 2nd, 8th and the 15th of February, while the final of Supernova 2015 will be held on the 22nd of February, where the jury and the audience will select the winner by a voting mix of 50-50% out of the four finalists.

Aarzemnieki represented Latvia earlier this year in Copenhagen with the song “Cake To Bake”, which unfortunately didn’t manage to qualify for the Grand Final.
