María Ólafsdóttir is a fairly new name, even here in Iceland. She has mainly been doing stage work; acting in both musicals and plays.

This is her first time in Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins, where she will perform a song by StopWaitGo. She has performed songs by them earlier, for instance “Lýsi í myrkri”, which she recorded with Kristmundur Axel, known from Blár Ópal.
