Melodifestivalen stage revealed!

This morning SVT, the swedish television, has presented the stage design for this year Melodifestivalen. As stated, it is going to be one of the biggest stages ever used, with 24 meters of width and 21 meters of depth. The scene will include also a long runway. The concept behind the stage is to make the audience feel involved in the show.

Over the stage 40 almost transparent tubes are hang, with lamps inside. The background will see the common LED screens and a special textile made of hybrid LED for light effects. The idea behind so many lighting spots is to have a versatile stage that could change in every occasion.

The greenroom will be positioned again close to stage, meanwhile the satellite stage will be bigger. You can find two renders of the stage on the official Facebook page.

Melodifestivalen will be held each saturday between the 7th of February and the 14th of March. Sweden will perform in the second Semifinal.
