According to a Portuguese news portal, two time winner of Festival da Cancao, and two time Eurovision entrant for Portugal, Simone de Oliveira is going to be back in Festival da Cancao this year, competing to represent Portugal in Vienna!
Simone has represented Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1965 with “Sol de inverno”, and then again in 1969 with “Desfolhada portuguesa”. She is still a very respected artist in Portugal, and is still an active singer.
A source very close to Simone said that it’s true that she is going to be taking part in Festival da Cancao this year, and that she is very happy and honoured to be a part of this competition once again.
The official list of participants hasn’t been released just yet, and we shall find out whether Simone is in or not very soon. Festival da Cancao will consist of two semi finals on the 3rd and the 5th of March, and the Grand Final on the 7th of March.
