Earlier last month, the Azerbaijani broadcaster ITV announced that Azerbaijan would be selecting their entry internally, which was to Eurovision fans a surprise because of the country’s usual national final sessions. It was also announced that any Azerbaijani citizen living in or out of Azerbaijan could send a song to ITV and take their chances.
The jury including Camil Quliyev – CEO of Ictimai TV – and Tamilla Sirinova – the head of the delegation – have decreased the number of the candidates to 3 and they are: Nermine Behbudova, Nermine Seyidova and Elnur Hüseynov.
Today it was announced that Elnur Hüseynov with the song Hour Of The Wolf will fly the Azerbaijani flag in Vienna. Elnur previously represented Azerbaijan in 2008 along with Samir, with the song Day After Day, placing 8th in the grand final.
