Edurne performs “Amanecer” live for the first time on Spanish television

Nearly three months after the Spanish national broadcaster TVE has unveiled who will represent Spain at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Edurne – the country’s entrant – performed her Eurovision entry “Amanecer” live on the weekly late show Alaska y Segura, which was aired on La 1.

Edurne performed her song in front of a small audience in the Late Show at a little past 1 am CET, today.

“Amanecer” (en. Dawn) was written by the Spanish songwriter Tony Sánchez-Ohlsson, and the Swedish songwriters Peter Boström and Thomas G:son. The song is said to be a midtempo track with a slight extent of dramatic and ethnic character.

On the 3rd of March, Edurne recorded a symphonic version of the song “Amanecer” at the Teatro Monumental in Madrid, together with the RTVE Symphony Orchestra and Choir.

The Spanish national broadcaster TVE picked the famous singer via an internal selection. As Spain is one of the so-called Big 5 nations, Edurne will not have to go through the semi-final qualification process and will represent her country in the grand final on the 23rd of May at the 60th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna.
